My creative process is rooted in expression and reflection. Some of my most recent pieces are centered around the reframing of lifelong memories in New Orleans. After moving away for 20 years, my return has stirred something profound. Being back in this city, with its layered past and unshakable soul, has allowed me to revisit memories with new perspective and clarity. On canvas, I work through how the passage of time alters what we carry, how we heal, and how we make peace.
My lifelong work and theme, titled We Are Vulnerable; We Are Strong, explores that duality … the beautiful tension between raw fragility and resilient strength. Though the works are rooted in abstract expressionism, they evolve naturally based on what moves me during a particular chapter of life. My practice is not bound by theme or style, but rather driven by what needs to be said, processed, or revealed. Each painting is a personal meditation as well as a public invitation.
Art is how I navigate life’s transformations. It is both my therapy and my offering. I’m particularly drawn to how viewers interpret the work on their own terms—how stepping back and forming a personal conclusion becomes its own quiet act of performance and connection. The canvas opens the door to even more expansive storytelling.
